AI Garden Insights
How MyVeggieGarden's AI reads your garden logs to surface patterns, suggest decisions, and answer questions about your plantings.
The AI in MyVeggieGarden reads your notes about your plants. It doesn't generate generic gardening advice. Everything it surfaces comes from what you actually grew, logged, and recorded.
What the AI does
Surfaces recurring problems. During season review, it flags patterns across your logs: "Powdery mildew noted 3 times on zucchini across 2 seasons." These show up in the Reflect column so you can make informed decisions.
Suggests grow-again decisions. Consistent "Good" status and high yields → suggests Yes. Recurring problems → suggests Try Differently or No. Your log quality directly determines how useful these suggestions are.
Generates planting summaries. Quick synthesis of a planting's history: when you planted, how it performed, what went wrong, how it compared to previous years.
Ask AI. In the planting drawer, ask questions about any planting — "How did this compare to last year?" or "What went wrong in July?" — and get answers grounded in your data, not search results.
What the AI doesn't do
- No generic advice. It won't tell you tomatoes need 6-8 hours of sun.
- No fake precision. No harvest dates for plants with no variety or start date.
- No unsolicited suggestions. It surfaces insights when you ask or when you're in a planning context.
How to get better insights
The AI is only as good as your logs. Specific notes with conditions and quantities beat vague observations. "Spotted aphids on lower stems, June 3" is useful. "Bug problems" is not.
